Plant Fair

 

History

Each year since 2002 the Northamptonshire Group have held a plant fair at Kelmarsh Hall over the Sunday and Monday of the Early Spring Bank Holiday at the beginning of May.

 

In 2014 the fair moved to Holdenby House and since 2019 our plant fair has been incorported into the Holdenby House Homes and Gardens Fair.

 

This Year (provisionally)

The 2021 Holdenby House Homes and Gardens Fair is proposed to be held on Saturday, Sunday and Monday 22nd, 23rd and 24th May, from 10am to 5pm on all three days. Dogs with well-behaved owners are welcome!

Included in the entry fee - adults £8.50, concessions £7.50, children under 16 are Free! - is entry to the gardens of Holdenby House.  The house itself will NOT be open.

With ten local specialist nurseries offering not only the best of plants but detailed knowledge and instructions and supported by the Gardeners Questions including local gardening expert and the Holdenby Head Gardener.

 

Stalls will offer carefully selected items for home, garden and outdoor living with The Cookery Theatre giving light hearted ideas for recipes, cooking techniques and sumptuous menus.  Guided tours of the kitchen garden and the opportunity to roam the gardens add to the enjoyment.  Music and catering mean that you can stay as long as you like.

 

Twice each day on the lawns behind the house there will be displays of Falconry.  Icarus Falconry will also be open to view the Falcons, Owls, Hawks, Vultures and Eagles.  Please note that NO dogs are permitted in the falconry.
